Dr Emmanuel Amadi, PhD, MBA
Founder, Programme Director & Lead Faculty
Adult ADHD Clinician | GPhC-Registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber | Mental Health | Nanotoxicologist | Healthcare Executive | Governance & Clinical Leadership | Author.
Dr Emmanuel Amadi is a healthcare professional, clinician, entrepreneur, scientist, author and executive educator whose career spans pharmacy, Adult ADHD, mental health, independent prescribing, healthcare leadership, entrepreneurship, governance and nanotoxicology research.
He is the Founder, Programme Director and Lead Faculty of The Amadi Global Institute (TAGi) - UK, where he brings together more than two decades of professional experience with business leadership, scientific research and executive education.
His career has taken him from frontline clinical practice to management, from entrepreneurship to organisational governance, and from the laboratory to executive education.
That breadth of experience shapes his approach to learning: understand the evidence, see the wider picture, exercise sound judgement and translate knowledge into action.
CLINICAL PRACTICE & INDEPENDENT PRESCRIBING
Adult ADHD | Mental Health | Common Clinical Conditions
Dr Amadi is a GPhC-registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber, with clinical interests spanning Adult ADHD, mental health and Common Clinical Conditions.
His recent professional development has placed particular emphasis on Adult ADHD. He has undertaken specialist training in the assessment and diagnosis of Adult ADHD and its pharmacological treatment, strengthening his capability in structured clinical assessment, treatment considerations, medication monitoring and ongoing patient care.
His Independent Prescribing education at the University of Strathclyde included extensive supervised clinical practice within primary care, where he gained experience working with patients across several GP practices.
His prescribing development included Common Clinical Conditions, clinical assessment, medicines optimisation, monitoring, clinical reasoning and person-centred decision-making.
His wider clinical experience includes mental-health medication review and monitoring, alongside experience relating to weight-management pharmacotherapy.
For Dr Amadi, prescribing is more than selecting a medicine. It requires clinical judgement, understanding the individual patient, evaluating benefit and risk, monitoring outcomes and knowing when a different intervention—or referral—is required.
ADULT ADHD & MENTAL HEALTH
A Growing Area of Specialist Clinical Practice
Adult ADHD has become a particular focus of Dr Amadi's contemporary clinical practice.
He completed his specialist professional development in Adult ADHD assessment and Diagnosis, and the Pharmacological treatment of adults with ADHD, with the UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN) - London, including structured approaches to clinical assessment and the principles underpinning safe medication treatment and monitoring.
His clinical interests extend beyond medication.
ADHD can affect education, employment, relationships, daily functioning and wider wellbeing. Effective care, therefore, requires an appreciation of both the clinical presentation and the individual circumstances of the person seeking support.
This area of practice has also strengthened Dr Amadi's interest in neurodiversity within professional and organisational environments—particularly how managers and organisations understand, support and develop people whose ways of thinking and working may differ.
FROM PHARMACIST TO ENTREPRENEUR & CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Dr Amadi's understanding of business leadership was developed not only through formal management education, but through building and leading businesses himself.
In 2011, during the latter stages of his Executive MBA, he established E E Amadi Ltd and subsequently developed Drugs4U Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Wholesale.
The enterprise combined an NHS distance-selling pharmacy with regulated pharmaceutical wholesaling.
As Founder, Chief Executive and Superintendent Pharmacist Director, Dr Amadi held responsibility across business strategy, clinical and regulatory governance, people, operations, finance, organisational development and growth.
The business achieved turnover exceeding SIX Figures within approximately 18 months and grew to employ more than 50 people during its development. He exited the business in August 2018.
That experience continues to influence his teaching.
Business decisions look very different when you are personally accountable for the employees, customers, regulators, cash flow and consequences behind the numbers.
HEALTHCARE & CLINICAL LEADERSHIP
Dr Amadi has spent more than two decades within pharmacy and healthcare, progressing through frontline professional practice, pharmacy management, business ownership and clinical leadership.
His experience has involved responsibility for patient care, professional standards, medicines, people, operations and performance within highly regulated environments.
Working across both healthcare and business has given him a particular appreciation of the tensions leaders frequently have to manage: quality and productivity, professional judgement and commercial reality, innovation and regulation, autonomy and accountability.
These experiences inform his approach to Executive Education, particularly in people management, strategic thinking, leadership, governance and decision-making.
NANOTOXICOLOGIST & SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHER
From the Laboratory to Evidence-Informed Decision-Making
Dr Amadi is also a Nanotoxicologist, with doctoral research in Medical Sciences focused on nanotoxicology and genetic toxicology.
His PhD research at the University of Bradford investigated the biological and genotoxic effects associated with nanomaterials, including research involving graphene oxide and DNA damage.
His research experience included advanced laboratory investigation of genotoxicity and work involving human biological samples, contributing to a deeper understanding of how emerging materials may interact with biological systems.
His scientific work has been disseminated through academic and professional channels in the UK and internationally.
But the influence of scientific research on his work extends beyond nanotoxicology.
Research teaches disciplines that are equally valuable in leadership:
Ask the right question.
Examine the evidence.
Challenge assumptions.
Understand uncertainty.
Do not confuse correlation with explanation.
Make conclusions proportionate to the evidence available.
These principles underpin Dr Amadi's approach to strategic thinking and executive decision-making.
LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE
Dr Amadi's experience extends beyond executive management into organisational governance.
He has served as a Non-Executive Director and Trustee within a multi-academy trust, contributing to organisational oversight, safeguarding governance, executive accountability and the stewardship of organisational resources.
He has also served as an elected Parent Governor within primary education.
These experiences reinforced an important distinction that informs his teaching:
Management delivers. Leadership creates direction and mobilises people. Governance provides oversight, challenge and accountability.
Senior professionals increasingly need to understand all three.

He leads the development of the TAGi Mini Executive MBA Programme, bringing together professional development across management, strategy, leadership, emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship and financial decision-making.
His multidisciplinary background allows participants to encounter these subjects through several lenses: as a healthcare professional, clinician, entrepreneur, former Chief Executive, scientist, governor and educator.
The common thread is practical decision-making.
WHY I TEACH
Throughout my career, I have moved between roles that required very different things from me.
I have been a pharmacist, manager, entrepreneur, Chief Executive, clinician, researcher and organisational leader.
Each transition taught me that the knowledge that makes you successful at one level does not automatically prepare you for the responsibilities of the next.
When you become responsible for people, you need to understand people differently. When you become responsible for a business, finance and strategy take on a different meaning. When you enter governance, accountability changes again.
That experience is one of the reasons I established The Amadi Global Institute.
I want our participants to encounter important management and business ideas before—or while—they are dealing with the situations that make those ideas real.
“Education should not simply increase what you know. It should improve what you are capable of doing.”
